Y3P FUNDRAISING UPDATE!

We are proud to announce that @TeamJPP reached their fundraising goal and raised £10,895 +£1,657.50 Gift Aid for @PennyBrohnUK and Willen Hospice Milton Keynes whose work supporting people with cancer is so important.

Special thanks to our Associate Director, Tom Leatherland who organised this amazing charity event.

Thanks also to Engineer, Teddy Cadby for organising our accomodation, Geoff of Major Coachways for getting us safely to Yorkshire and back and our guide Matt Burgin for keeping everyone safe on the peaks.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone that gave their weekend to take on the challenge, raise a fantastic amount of money and suffered the blisters after! We are so proud.

Ray Hulse – ICE Membership Development Officer

Our Engineers were very fortunate to enjoy a visit from Ray Hulse, Membership Development Officer from the Institution of Civil Engineers. They had the opportunity to meet with him and discuss the various ICE membership routes.

The professional development of staff is vitally important to the success of our business and we appreciated Ray’s visit and the experience and advice he offered.

SOLAR PANELS AT WHILTON

Here at JPP we are committed to the protection of human health, natural resources and the environment. Our aim is to prevent environmental damage and reduce energy, adopting sustainable design in all our projects and to continually review and improve on our environmental impact and performance. With this in mind, we commissioned solar panels at our head office, Grand Union Works at Whilton Locks, at the end of August last year. The total energy yield from this system has been 16137kWh to date which has seen the company enjoy substantial savings on our electricity bills and reduced our use of energy sources that have larger effects on the environment. Thanks to Griffiths who are an environmentally conscious air conditioning & heating specialist for their excellent work on this.

A Decade with JPP

Congratulations to Development Planning Associate, Katherine Rose who is celebrating her 10 year anniversary with us at JPP. Katherine joined us on the 1st June 2014 as a Graduate Engineer and her knowledge, expertise and skills have seen her progress onto Associate.

She is a key member of our DP team and an Environmental Champion going above and beyond on a daily basis and we are excited to see how she progresses through our business in the future. Thank you Katherine for all you do.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR Y3P HEROES!

Team JPP set off for Yorkshire on Friday afternoon and made their attempt at the Yorkshire 3 Peaks starting at 5.15am on Saturday morning.

We are absolutely delighted to report that all of our team completed the walk. In driving rain, bright sunshine, clear skies, heavy fog, light breezes and high winds they tackled 1585m of ascent and a 38.6km circular route beginning and ending at the beautiful Ribblehead Viaduct.

There were tears, blisters and a bit of sheer terror on the climbs but also a lot of team building, fun and laughter. All completed with Jasmin at the front of their minds and the 2 charities that supported her.

Our total so far is £9,500! Thank you to all who have donated so far. We are so grateful.

JPP Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Good luck to Team JPP who are completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday.

For those of you not familiar with this challenge, the walk is almost 40km long and will take our team across Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside. The combined climb for all 3 peaks is a huge 2153km and Team JPP will aim to complete the loop in under 12 hours.

Team JPP are doing this in memory of Jasmin and in aid of the two charities who supported her throughout her cancer journey, Penny Brohn UK and Willen Hospice. Our total currently stands at £5,972.00 +£994.25 Gift Aid (as of Monday 3rd) which is phenomenal! But we would love to raise more and help these two amazing charities continue their valuable work.

JPP Games Night

Congratulations to our Finance Apprentice Rose for arranging a fantastic ‘Games Night’ on Friday. The event was planned as part of Rose’s coursework where she had to complete a task incorporating sustainability and wellbeing within the work place. Rose set up board games and challenges around our head office at Whilton Locks to boost our wellbeing and she sold scratch cards where all proceeds went to an environmental charity.

Congratulations Rose! It was a fantastic evening.
