Talbot Heath School

THREE-STOREY TEACHING BLOCK

Our team in Poole (formerly known as Smith Foster) undertook the structural engineering design for the new three-storey teaching block for Talbot Heath School, an independent girls school in Talbot Woods, Bournemouth. The building includes a 600 seat auditorium, classrooms, breakout spaces as well as providing a roof and changing rooms for an existing swimming pool.

The building was designed as a steel frame with composite, profiled metal deck floors and a ground bearing slab with extensive detailing around facades, exposed steelwork connections and the high/low level interfaces.

Talbot Heath School utilised BIM with full collaboration between the Architect and M&E engineers utilising Revit software to provide the client with a fully realised design before construction commenced.

GROUND INVESTIGATION -MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT – EDINBURGH

JPP Geotechnical and Environmental were appointed by a land agent to undertake a detailed Phase I and Phase II Ground Investigation on a large parcel of land on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The proposed development comprised approximately 200 residential properties with private gardens, areas of open landscaping, commercial units and a primary school with associated infrastructure.

A Decade with Danny!

JPP have been lucky to work with Senior Engineer, Danny Barber for an entire decade!

Danny joined JPP in October 2013 as a Technician and is now a Senior Engineer currently working on his ICE Chartership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer and leading his own team of Civil and Structural Engineers.

Danny is a valued member of the JPP team, not just as an experienced engineer, but as an inspiration to our younger members of staff.

Bournemouth Air Festival 2023

Following a stunning week of weather on the south coast we reflect back on one of the highlights, the Bournemouth Air Festival. JPP Consulting and invited guests enjoyed an afternoon of top notch hospitality within the air festival marquee located under the central flight line.
