The Role

As a Project Finance Coordinator, you will:

• Set up and maintain project budgets in Deltek
• Prepare and issue invoices according to project milestones or deliverables
• Track and manage variations and scope changes
• Monitor spend against budgets
• Produce WIP reports and issue early warnings on potential overspends
• Support project close-out and ensure accurate project financial records
• Monitor aged debts and identify overdue accounts.

This role is working within JPP Consulting Ltd at our south coast office in Poole.  We provide a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Our diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes.

Responsibilities and duties

Working within a civils team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians the role is varied and includes, but is not limited to:

• Design development: Support the design of civil engineering schemes from initial concept to detailed design, including design of roads, drainage, earthworks, and other infrastructure elements. Ensure designs are technically sound, cost effective and meet client requirements.
• Technical analysis: Undertake detailed design, prepare calculations and reports, and conduct assessments in accordance with relevant codes and standards. Use appropriate software to create design models, drawings and documentation.
• Project management support: Assist in managing the technical aspects of a project, including liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders, and ensuring designs are delivered on time and within budget.

Geo-Environmental Engineer – Full time, Northants

This role is within JPP Geotechnical and Environmental Ltd, who provide geotechnical and environmental ground investigation services across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties

Working within the Geotechnical and Environmental team the role will be varied and will include, but is not limited to;

• Working both on site and office based throughout the year.
• Applicants will be expected to work on site in varying locations around the UK, to include driving to and from site, and staying away from home as required (expenses covered by JPP).
• Soil and rock logging to current British Standards. Laboratory scheduling.
• Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within JPP.
• Collating geological/geotechnical/Environmental data.
• Writing all types of factual and interpretative Reports (Desk study, ground investigation, earthworks, remediation strategies, CMRAs etc).
• Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities
• Managing site activities and subcontractors, writing RAMS and liaising with clients
• Design, implement and manage ground investigations for geotechnical and contamination assessments
• Undertake fieldwork with supervision of various site contractors, soil and rock logging, in situ testing, sampling and scheduling laboratory testing.
• Experience of factual and interpretative reporting.
• Carrying out detailed qualitative and quantitative contamination risk assessments in line with current standards and guidance.
• Carrying out geotechnical assessments with detailed technical analysis and interpretation to inform foundation and pavement design, embankments, retaining walls and basement construction.
• Liaison with clients, other professionals and regulators such as NHBC, LA, EA and BC.
• Other duties associated with the role such as production of remediation specifications, verification and soil waste classification.
• Mentoring of Graduate Engineers on site and for office based tasks.
