Project Summary
Our team in Poole (formerly known as Smith Foster) provided infrastructure and structural engineering design for this boutique collection of nineteen homes, designed by Boon Brown Architects, built in the exclusive 165-acre woodland estate in Midhurst.
The project was led by Metis Homes on a design and build basis and we worked closely with the successful contractor to deliver design and construction efficiencies through close collaboration.
Our infrastructure design comprised the external works, highway alignment and foul and surface water drainage design, including full liaison with the local authority and local water authority. With the site sloping in two directions the road alignment was carefully considered to balance the cut and fill to minimise groundworks costs. The drainage design was streamlined to minimise the number of inspection chambers and drainage runs.
